Isuzu Repair: Driver Window stuck in down position, 1999 isuzu trooper, isuzu trooper

Question
QUESTION: I have a 1999 Isuzu Trooper and the driver's window will not roll up.  Will I have to replace the window regulator/motor with the window in the down position or is there any way to get the window back up before I start working.  Thanks very much

ANSWER: The easiest way to figure out if the motor is bad is to remove the door panel and check the voltage with a multimeter. See if the window has just come off the track or if the actual plastic window retaining clips have broken which happens quite often and will cause this problem. Although if this didn't happen let me know and we will work at it step by step and get it figured out okay?

QUESTION: thanks so much for the quick response.  I have checked the motor and it is bad, I bought a new motor but can't seem to figure out how to get to everything since the window is in the down position.  Any advice on whether the motor has a release switch or some other way to move the window up? Alternatively how you could go about getting the old motor out and the new motor in.  Thanks again for such a quick response!

Answer
Well the window should have three equalizer bolts and four regulator bolts Bryan. Also there should be two window glass retaining bolts that must be loosened as well. The weatherstripping should be removed and the glass should be lifted up with rags gently to prevent scratching. Just make sure to be gentle with the trim panel and the glass! If you need anything please don't hesitate to ask!!:)
