Isuzu Repair: Oil pressure light, oil pressure sending unit, autozone

Question
I have a 1991 Trooper with a 2.8 and the oil pressure light has started
flashing on and off at odd times and the gauge reads at the maximum.  I put
a mechanical gauge in the line to the oil cooler and it indicates that there is
sufficient oil pressure.  A friend mentioned that a bad alternator could be the
problem.  What do you think?

Answer
Well Michael I would start by checking your oil pressure sending unit and your connections on it as well. Autozone will check and diagnose your vehicle for free although I doubt it is the alternator. If you have any other questions though please do not hesitate to ask okay?
