Isuzu Repair: 94 Trooper worn out clutch, second opinion, clutch

Question
I took my 94 Trooper in to a repair shop because it wasn't shifting and had some other issues.  The shop came back and said that I needed a new transmission.  I've had the transmission looked at before, by someone I trust, and it always looked fine.  On further questioning, this shop said that it was actually the clutch that was burnt out, but that on a Trooper, you had to rebuild the transmission when replacing the clutch so it would actually be cheaper to just replace the whole transmission.  I've never worked with this shop before so I don't know if they are just trying to get my money.  Have you ever hear this before?

Answer
Well Joanna. I have never heard this before but that does not mean it isn't true. I would get a second opinion by someone you trust. Who can actually can look at the transmission and say "YES" or "NO". I cannnot actually look at your vehicle so it would be hard to say for sure. I am sorry if I wasn't much help but I will do some research online and let you know if that is okay. As long as you get on the road thats what matters to me.
