Isuzu Repair: better fuel mileage for 2000 Isuzu Amigo, isuzu amigo, throttle positioning sensor

Question
QUESTION: I have just acquired a 2000 Isuzu Amigo and noticed that it is using a lot of fuel. It seems that I can fill up the 17.7 gallon tank and only go about 220 miles on a tank of fuel. The Isuzu has a 3.2 liter (V6) and is a 2 wheel drive. I have change the plugs and want to know what other steps I can take to get better gas mileage?

ANSWER: ohhh, wow that is horrible. I would recommend tires, fuel filter change. An AIT sensor chip found on ebay. K&N air filer. Platinum tipped spark plugs. Or a quick check at your o2 sensors as well. Do you have to stomp on the gas pedal to get it to go anywehere?

QUESTION: I have new tires and have changed the fuel filter. I'm not sure what an WAIT sensor is could you explain. Also how or where would I get the O sensor checked at. And the air filter is new but is not a K&N. The car has plenty of pep and has no problems accelerating at all, however if you did this you can watch the fuel gauge go down.

Answer
Your Air Intake Temperature Sensor is located on your air intake duct leading to your throttle body. It is a two wire clip. I Think it is your o2 sensor or your throttle positioning sensor could be at fault as well as your pcm should be checked out. You are dumping too much fuel tho. Is your tail pipe exteremely dark and sooty? Check to see if your egr valve is stuck open or is sooty as well.
