Jaguar Repair: hard hot starting, jaguar repairs, airflow meter

Question
Hi there
I think it's a great service you give to jag owners  BRAVO!
We have just imported a 1980 XJ 6 4.2  to Israel from the U.S.A.Yhe car has a problem starting when the engine is hot after being driven for approx. 40( mins.It feels like vapour in the fuel lines. Also when it eventually starts it runs on 2 cylinders then 4 then 6. In Israel we have up to 40 degrees celsius outside temp. The injection system is j-tronic L.

Can you tell me what the fuelair switch next to the bonnet opener lever  is for?

Do you know where we can buy a workshop manual?

Thanks a lot
Brian

Answer
Please go to (welshent.com) and download a catalog and buy a manual. If your car is fuel injection, like my car, it sounds like your airflow meter is bad. Also check your fuel pump to make sure that it is working properly. Please put some fuel injector cleaner in your gas, that my help also. The catalog will show you the location of all the parts. I hope that this helps.
Please read some of my answers to other questions on Jaguar repairs. Some of them my help you.
