Jaguar Repair: E.TYPE window washer jets, rubber elbows, flex pipes

Hello howard,
i am currently re-spraying an E.TYPE and can't see how to remove the washer jet's. do i have to remove the dash?, had the same problem on a mk2 a few week's ago, did they used to put the jet's in then build the car arround them?.

Hi Larry,
It has been many years since I did anything to an E type washer nozzles but I think you have to remove the top dash pad to gain access to the nuts holding the nozzles in. As I remember there are four nuts holding the dash pad in. The defroster flex pipes should come up with the dash pad and defroster outlets. Remove the flex hoses from the rubber elbows at the bottom. I am sure you have to remove the lower under the dash panels too and maybe the radio console. The dash itself stays in place.
I had made a long tool to tighten the nuts on the MGs but as I remember it didn't work on the
"E" types so I had to take the top dash pad off.
That has been many years ago so I don't remember exactly. That is the best I can tell you.
