hi Howard, I would like to know how to bench test the wiper motor. Is the 5 wire lucas unit  I have a 12 volt power supply and need to know what to hook the positive and negative to make the motor turn to see if its ok  thanks

Sorry Bill, I never worked out a bench test of the wiper motor other than to bypass the cancel switch and just connect a power and ground to the motor wires and touch each of the three wires to ID the slow and fast speed. Since it is a permanent magnet motor it does not matter about polarity.

The best way was as we did in the dealership was to just leave it connected to the car and operate each speed and intermittent and which ever does not work trace that circuit only with a wiring diagram and test light.
