Answer
questions like yours are the reason that i signed up to be an expert on this website. I can help you with both of your problems.. Ok first, "what else should I check the veh is pulsing when I apply brake pressure"  As recommended by everybody that has ever worked on brakes if you are replacing the brake pads you need to consider having the Rotors and Drums resurfaced or replaced depending on ware, Most auto parts stores can do resurfacing. A bad rotor will cause that pulsing in the brakes, If you have ABS it will always have a fast pulsing feeling because that is how ABS works.

2) DEATH WOBBLE! let me guess, after 50 mph you start feeling the steering wheel shake and it feels like the front end is wobbling back and forth really fast, if you slow down it goes away, and if you speed up it will go away... Sound right? this is called the XJ death wobble. no one thing causes it but a lot of things factor into it, if you want it to go away consider doing the following:

Tighten or replace the Track Bar (main problem)
replace the hime joint on the track bar
upper and lower ball joints
and a alignment and balance the tires

with all of this done you will kill the death wobble for a little while. Its an XJ problem. but regular maintenance will keep it from coming back

Hope this Helps!
