Jeep Repair: 1998 jeep cherokee 4.0 overheating, coolant temperature switch, engine coolant temperature

Question
my jeep overheats when outside temp hits 70 or above.  had water pump, thermostat, and rad. cap replaced. the antifreeze is a rusty color. is the electric cooling fan suppose to come on during overheat conditions. thanks, rich.

Answer
Your fan should come on around 220 degrees, you need to flush your antifreeze, it should be green, I would also replace my thermostat and flush my radiator with a water hose.  The fan may not come on due to a faulty engine coolant temperature switch.  Hope you get it fixed!
