Land Rover Repair: flashing odometer, factory test, security feature

My 2003 Discovery SE went a litte crazy one day & shut down most of the electronics and governed the power.  A security feature I figured.  Through a series of locking & unlocking the doors (manually & with the FOB) I did regain all systems.  Except for the odometer that has continued to flash.  Any special sequence to remedy this?

Unfortunately, the body control unit has concluded that someone has tampered with the odometer and now it is condemned to flash.  There is no deliberate fix I know of.  However, I have seen two Discos with that issue at Robison Service.  Neither had odometers tampered with, and both eventually stopped flashing on their own.  In both cases I tried to reset them with the factory test system to no avail, but they eventually just stopped doing it.
