Land Rover Repair: Brake lights not working, light sockets, brake switch

Question
I have a 2003 Freelander that the only rear brake light that works is the high one over the tire.

So far I have checked the bulbs, checked the fuse, taken the back panel off and checked the grounds, thay are good. Even removed the bulbs and checked for current butt was not getting any.

I do not see any connectors before it goes under the dash.

The brake switch was replaced once already.  Could that be the problem.....but then why only does the high lite up?

Does it operate through the ECU?  Could that be bad?

Any information would be helpful.

Thank you

Answer
Your next step should be to go to www.landrovertechinfo.com and buy a day's access to the official service site.  Download the relevant wiring diagram and component junction locator.  Turn the key on, put a wood block on the brake pedal, and begin following the circuits forward from the light sockets with the help of the shop manuals.  It's not terribly hard; just time consuming.  There is no other answer
