Land Rover Repair: Discovery 3 total electrical failure, land rover dealer, land rover dealership

I have recently acquired a 2005 Discovery 3 HSE and was driving in wet weather when I had a 'system program failure - suspension' message.  This then turned into multiple system failure messages before all electrical power was lost. A recovery company found that all battery power had been lost and i was towed to the local Land Rover dealership.  I was wondering whether similar problems have been recorded in the past and if this a failure of the alternator or something much worse? can you help

What did the Land Rover dealer say?  They should have answered this question for you, with respect to your car.  Alternators, batteries, and belts can fail in any car.  Land Rovers are not especially problematic in that regard.  I can't really speculate what else may be wrong without seeing teh vehicle but you say it's at the dealer and they should have good answers for you.
