Land Rover Repair: 2001 Disco SE II, obd ii scanner, scanner port

Question
After replacing the IAC valve (previous code 1509), vehicle is still hard to start, and a new code showed up (1590).  Vehicle will start after cranking for a while, after running vehicle a smell of raw gas is now coming from the vehicle. Previously replaced front O2 sensors, planning on replacing the rear ones.  Could the smell indicate a problem with the fuel pump or a clogged screen (hear there is no external fuel filter for this model).  Is there any way to reset the computer without removing the ECU?

Answer
If you smell gas you either have a totally different problem or you knocked something off while going at the idle valve.  In any case, the idle valve should not affect starting.  I doubt if the fuel pump is clogged; we never see that.  I'd suggest finding a real Land Rover expert with proper tools (which may or may not be a dealer) and have them look at the live data, which is what's really needed to diagnose issues like this.  And finally, the engine ecu is reset through the OBD II scanner port.  Removing it from the vehicle will not do anything in that regard and may leave you with a truck that won't start because the security sync has been disturbed
