Lexus Repair: AM Radio Static, lexus toyota, jp importz

Question
95 SC400 has static only on AM. Rest of stock audio system works fine including CD in the trunk. I tried an extra ground in the trunk to the antenna but no diff. Static under short bridges/power poles etc.  Have had other cars do this a little but this is the worse ever. Is this a SC common trbl ? I am good mechanically and fair electrically. Thanks in advance.

  We had one does the same thing on a RX300. Turn out it was a short in the cable.  Also how is your ant mast? If you need additional diagnost info, Please let me know. jason@jpimportz.org
