Land Rover Repair: Noisy relay??, rover service, dash board

Question
Every morning when I turn on ignition key in  my 2000 LR Discovery II the lights in the black casing that surrounds the gear shifter flickering and I can hear the relay on the (left hand driver) side. After 20-30 seconds relay stops flickering and everything return  to normal. The car running normal and no warning lights on dash board. I took car to Land Rover Service Department but no help there.
Thanks

Answer
It's not obvious to me what is causing your problem.  The only way to track this down will be to look at the wiring diagram, and develop and test various theories one at a time.  Who can do that for you?  It sounds like the dealer wasn't much help; most service people focus on "easy answers."

Is there a reputable specialist you can turn to?

This could be time consuming and somewhat expensive to resolve.  I'm sorry I have nothing specific to answer but I have never heard of this particular problem before.  I don't doubt it can be fixed but where to start . . . . We would connect the Land Rover test system and start by looking at the live data when it acts up.  We'd base our next step on those results.
