Land Rover Repair: LR Discovery Td5 2004, discovery td5, iso 9141

Question
My Discovery Td5 I brought with me from Italy and we are driving now for almost for years in Bolivia. There is very little experienced service specialists over here.Since a couple of months the engine became noisy and rough and is producing now that specific well known Diesel-rattle. The fuel here is really bad.
A technician checked with his computer-scan and -although without the full LR software, he found out the following:
1.  KWP2000 - slow init   V  FAIL;
2.  J 1850   VPW          V  FAIL;
3.  J 1850   PWM          V  FAIL;
4.  CAN                   V  FAIL;
5   ISO 9141-2            V  FAIL.
What do those codes mean? How can I have a repair without a real experienced LR specialist.
There are some clever and handy technicians here, but I have to explain te problem and the possible soluyion, if any.
Thank you, I will be grateful when you caould help me.
Regards,
Ton

Answer
I have no idea what those codes are.  They are nothing that would come from a LR test system.  You will have to refer to the manual for your tester for an interpretation.

Make sure they know that LR has a worldwide service support website, www.landrovertechinfo.com where they can buy daily access to all service into.  It's about $20 US per day.
