Land Rover Repair: Electrical Problem??, land rover discovery, front fog lights

Question
I have a '03 Land Rover Discovery SE7 with about 75k miles. Three days ago, I turned on the front wipers and they didn't work. There was no sound, or other indication. Of course, that was my focus as it was raining but when I got home, I did some more checking. I also found that the rear wipers didn't work, the washers for either did not work, and the front fog lights did not work. When I attempt to turn on the rear wipers, I do hear a couple of short clicks. I checked the fuses and they seemed fine. I am on a budget right now, so i guess I am looking for a fix rather than the usual $300 investigation charge at a dealer. Any ideas?

Answer
What you have to do it test the circuit.  If you want to undertake that yourself, buy a day's access at www.landrovertechinfo.com and download all the relevant wiring diagrams and test procedures for those circuits.  You'll then have the same info a dealer tech would have.

Proceed from the fusebox back to the switch to the wipers adn lights until you see where the failure lies.  It will require some disassembly for access, and you may find more than one problem.

There are some multifunction modules in there but there is no "common cause" of that particular trouble to point you to.  If you want to save the diagnostic charge you have to do what they'd do yourself.
