Nissan Repair: 1998 Nissan Pathfinder Starting Issues, nissan pathfinder, cold start

Question
I have a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder Automatic V6 that won't start the first time that you try to start it for the day, no matter what time of day it is. (So I don't think that its a temp. problem) There is power, but I have to hold the ignition and pump the gas a lot. The spark plugs/wires are brand new, so is the battery. Could it be the fuel filter? Please help?!

Answer
Jennifer,

The problem seems to be with the cold start mode.  If it is the first time you start it for the day regardless of weather it is a cold start issue.  I would be looking at cleaning the throttle body and checking the temperature sensor that tells the computer when the engine is cold.  Check these things out and email me back.  If you have not changed the fuel filter is 20,000 miles it would go to do so.
