QuestionHi Nigel...My 98 Discovery runs great. My daughter left the door open..it wouldn't crank..just click. Now, a week later, there's nothing. I bought a new battery....still nothing. No sounds.Get both starter and solenoid? I'll get rebuilt...I'm not a good diy'er...I might try this...I've got the long ratchets etc.
Also, I've driven this for a year with a bad catalytic conv (I know this ain't a good thing)..is it possible to get the $75 universal converter and have a local shop put it in? Thanks for your time. Peter
AnswerIf, in fact, it was running fine before the door was left open, it sounds like you still have a flat battery or a bad terminal connection. The starter may also be bad, but I would check the battery first.
You can go to a muffler shop and have a cheap cat put on it.
