Land Rover Repair: 97 Defender 4.0 V8, crank sensor, sensor switch

Question
Cold starts fine, after running several minutes if re-start attempted the motor
turns normal but seems to lack fuel. If ignition is switched to 2nd position
and gas is pumped then turned to start, while not depressing pedal, it starts
as if choked and pedal needs slight pump to clear. After running 30-60
minutes, at random fuel pressure/ flow decreases and motor sputters.
Ignition is turned off, wait for several minutes and re-start using the same
technic described previously. Parts changed, service done; Fuel Filter, Fuel
cut-off switch, Coolant sensor switch, air filter and tune -up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Mark

Answer
Check the fuel pressure.  It should be approximately 37 psi.  If it drops off when warm, replace the fuel pump.  Crank sensors are also a big problemon this vehicle.  Crank sensor failure will cause intermittent hard start and cutting out.  Check these 2 out and get back to me.
