Land Rover Repair: Land Rover 2001 discovery SEII, expert mechanics, wheel speed

Question
Hello!  I'm in Hawaii and we have no expert mechanics it doesn't seem.  Anywho, since husband hooked up a trailer for a morning, ABS, TC, Hill descent lights and check engine are on.  As well, sometimes, it seems it takes engine awhile to get going, like I can't turn into traffic and really hit the gas much, not that one ever should, but... I love the vehicle and want the best for it.  Otherwise it is fantastic...no problems.  I worry about the slow start though.  Any ideas?  Many thanks, merritt

Answer
The ABS, TC, Hill descent & check engine lights could be all related.  A rough road signal from the wheel speed sensor will cause a check engine light and disable hill descent, traction control and ABS.  I do not think it is related to the trailer hitch.  Was a factory trailer harness used?  If not, this can cause problems because the factory one is like a little computer.

You need to get the codes read.  You can get a generic code reader to get the engine code.  If it is a rough road code, you can confirm the diagnosis above.
