Land Rover Repair: Loud tapping in the engine, oil sump, timing chain

Question
I have a loud tapping that goes up and down with the accelerator.  I changed the lifters, camshaft, and the timing chain.  It sounds like the tapping is on the drivers side of the engine.  Any ideas where to go from here.  It is a 97' discovery.  The lifters were had plenty of where on the them.  The camshaft had one spot that was  really worn.

Answer
I've seen slipped liners that sounded like a bad lifter, but louder.

If the liner slipps low enough that the rings hit the top of it you'll get a loud click each time.  You can check the liners position by pulling the heads or oil sump(you can see them from the bottom).

Driving like that for too long can cause the rings or even piston to descintigrate.
