Land Rover Repair: coil packs, discovery series, upper manifold

I have a 200 discovery series , I need to change the coil packs on both sides. Can you tell me how and is it pretty simple. From what I've read it seems to be- but that was on a 93 disco.

replacing the coil-packs is a simple un-plug and remove, plugin and replace BUT the coils are between the firewall and back of the engine, almost impossilbe to reach.  

The official LR procedure is to remove the upper manifold, I have heard (never done it myself) that removing the engine mounts will allow the engine to sit several inches lower, making access very easy.
