Land Rover Repair: Spark plug cross threading, valve job, plug hole

Question
I just bought a 1999 Land Rover w/ 173K miles on it. I went to replace the plugs and had a very hard time removing #8. Once I got it out I didn't think much of it except that possibly it could be build up. I started the new one in by hand and had a hard time getting it started. Once it got going it felt off and it looked to be at a bad angle. I pulled it back out to see if the plug was bad, and it wasn't, so I tried again. After numerous tries I finally looked at the old one to find out that it appears to be cross threaded. I need to know how to fix this or advise someone how to fix. #7 wont break free as well and #3 wiring harness left the connector on the plug when removed. Please advise and thank you.

Answer
It may be possible to run a tap down the spark plug hole to restore the threads.  You may also be able to crank in a helicoil tap and fix it that way.  Generally, though, when we see that situation here at Robison Service we pull the heads and do a proper repair, do a valve job, and reseal all the leaks.
