Land Rover Repair: 98 HSE fwd drive shaft, propeller shaft, palm springs ca

Question
Actually a couple questions; first when offroading my forward propeller shaft was damaged and bolts sheared. Miles from service or any help the only way out was to remove the forward shaft and return to civilization. I replaced the u-joints at both ends, bought new bolts, but not knowing to "mark" the correct alignment at the receiver I have no idea how to correctly reinstall the shaft with the correct synchronization/alignment. Mt LR manual gives no help here but I have read enough that incorrect install is detrimental. Ideas? second question; I'm not blessed with a TestBook but have access to a pretty high end OBD scanner. I have a code that interprets as "EVAP pressure sensor signal error/fault". Where should I start on this one.
I love working on my 98 Rangie, much thanks to all you "experts".

Answer
On the drive shaft . . . put it on any way and if there's vibration turn it one bolt position at a time until it's smooth as possible.

On the pressure sensor fault . . . unless you have a scan tool that will show the love data from the tank pressurization you are just guessing.  If you have such a scan tool, read the pressure and see what's wrong.  You can get the test parameters and diagrams for the tank evap from www.landrovertechinfo.com

Frankly, the system can be tough to troubleshoot even with a T4 and smoke machine.  I don't know if I'd try with neither.  The driveability is not impaired in any way by that fault.

I don't normally tell people to ignore things but you probably don't have the diagnostic tools and it's not going to drive one bit differently.  Perhaps it's worth waiting till you have access to a properly equipped shop.
