Land Rover Repair: landrover discovery clutch problems, thrust bearing, fly wheel

Question
my 1991 l/r discovery v8, lost its clutch so decided to do it my self, obtained the right clutch and checked the old one, had the fly wheel machined, new thrust bearing and th elittle plastic clip that holds the bearing onto the fork. put the box back in, still no clutch, went looking at the slave and master cylinder and the small flexi hose and replaced all components and i bled the system all fine, feels as if the slave piston is not quite reaching the push rod, i have double checked with landrover and i have the right slave and master cylinder, is there a trick to this one?

Answer
Some of the master cylinders are very tricky to bleed.  In our shop, we have a system that uses low pressure compressed air (5-10 psi) to push the fluid from the reservoir through the bleeder down below.  Sometimes that's the only way to get them primed and bled.
