Land Rover Repair: 96 Disco Driver-side seat stuck, electric seat, side seat

1996 LR Discovery Gas.....Electric seat switch activates every direction EXCEPT BACK and (naturally) it is all the way forward as I write this.....will this require a whole new switch??? and is there a way to temporarily disengage the electrical assist and manually get it back so that I can get into the car to drive it???? Hi Merv,

sorry, I don't know of a reset method for the elect.seats.  You can try electrical contact cleaner on the switch contacts.  Check the elect. harness and clean there too.  Other wise, you'll have to remove the seat, remove the motor and refit the seat.
