Question
could you tell me how to confirm my steering box has gone. I have a lot of play on my steering wheel. almost a 1/4 turn and it sometimes teds to lock on corners will i need a new box thanks

Answer
Hi Gillian,

You could try bleeding your steering box (there is a bleeding nipple that works like brake line bleeder), could also be balljoints, tie rod or wheel alignment too.

Unless you've been off-roading and jarring the steering to extremes, go with alignment first. It will reveal if you need new ball joints or tie rods.  THEN proceed to service the steering box (new fluid and air bleeding).  Could save you some money.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
