Land Rover Repair: Disco 2 Issues, discovery series ii, neutral safety switch

Question
A couple of issues...

The M and S light both started blinking at the same rate and the transmission is sluggish when this occurs.  The dealer - on the phone - said to disconnect and reconnect the battery to reboot the computer.  This works, the transmission shifts fine and the lights are off.  However, in about 2 or 3 days, the problem reoccurs.  Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery still works, but I am doing this every three days.  Any thoughts...

Also...

The heating and AC system only throws out AC on the passenger side regardless of the temperature selected.  OK in Summer but more than a little inconvenient in Winter.  Other that that, the system seems to work fine, at least on the drivers side.  My thoughts are that a door or relay is stuck.  (I also don't relish the thought of spending hundreds at the local dealer tearing the dash apart)

AC and Heat problem:

yes, it does appear that one of the flaps is stuck.  Could be the flap itself or the servo that moves it.  Only way to tell is if you remove the dash and bench test the air inlet duct.  Here's a description from LR:

The air inlet duct is installed behind the fascia, on the passenger's side. The air inlet duct is connected to the plenum to provide the fresh air inlet. Two grilles in the air inlet duct provide recirculated air inlets from the cabin. Two control flaps, operated by a servo motor, open and close the fresh and recirculated air inlets to control the source of incoming air. Operation of the servo motor is controlled by a switch on the control panel.

The blower is installed between the air inlets and the outlet to the heater assembly, and consists of an open hub,
centrifugal fan powered by an electric motor. Operation of the blower is controlled by a slider switch on the control panel, via a blower relay mounted on the air inlet duct and a resistor pack. The resistor pack is installed in the air outlet from the blower fan, so that any heat generated is dissipated by the air flow.

A wiring harness on the air inlet duct connects the servo motor, blower motor, blower relay and resistor pack to the vehicle wiring.

I hope all of this helps.

JohnMc
