Land Rover Repair: 1998 Range Rover wont start..E.K.A, tricky beast, rovacom

Question
I have a 1998 HSE 4.6 Auto. The vehicle suddenly refused to start. The dash reads " engine disabled"..and "use remote"..The emergency key access code wont work either...I have always only ever used the " key" to unlock and start the vehicle , 2 turns to the left normally locks , one turn to the right normally unlocks , put the key in ignition , starts , and away we go....Now she has for some odd reason just refused to start? engine disabled use remote?...My remote doesnt work, key access code doesnt work either , yes i am using the correct sequence...How many possibilties are there that could be the problem?..thanks

Answer
The alarm system is a tricky beast (that I don't fully understand).  If it wants the remote, you need the remote, or testbook/rovacom to disable the alarm system.

That happened to me once, when my wife locked the doors as I was starting the engine, made the alarm VERY mad.  Luckily my remote worked, I'm not sure what to do with a remote that doesn't work other than disabling the remote through the BECM via rovacom.
