Land Rover Repair: 1999 lr discovery 2, radiator hoses, gauge readings

rover smells hot temp gauges are all normal. no warning lights come on but radiator hoses and engine feel hot. lr mech said a plug was missing from the radiator hose had them changed still smells like burning rubber. not exactly a pyromaniac so i am a little concerned

I suggest finding an expert to look at this right away. There's no way I  can judge if it's hot or dangerous from here.  Since the gauge readings are normal, there's a good chance the hot smell is actually coming from leaking fluids, perhaps burning on the exhaust.  Check it out soon.
