Land Rover Repair: 2000 LR Disco II Engine BIG problem, oil gauge, viscous liquid

Question
Last Friday my Discovery overheated twice. I had to fully refill the coolant reservoir. I did not know what the problem was until I checked the oil gauge (stick to measure the level and condition of the engine oil) and I found out something terrible. I found a muddy brownish viscous liquid. The oil and water had mixed together. Do you have any experience with this type of problem? Do you think it is going to be necessary to replace the engine? just the gaskets?
Thanks for your help!

Answer
You have a serious problem anytime coolant mixes with the oil.  It's important to take the motor apart and repair it right away, because continued driving will destroy it.

The motor will need to be dismantled and evaluted.  I'd suggest you prepare yourself for repair costs of $2500-7500

It could be a big deal
