Land Rover Repair: 1998 Land Rover Disco, land rover specialists, t4 test

Question
I have three simple questions (hopefully):

1.  My right passenger window slipped off track. Please give me instructions on how to fix it.

2.  My keyless remote does not work.  I have changed the battery in it.  Do I need to program it for it to work again?

3.  My passenger lock does not lock.  I have to manually push the lock down.  Is there a quick fix for it?

Now for the hard question.

Last night when I was headed home from work my truck would not start.  I go a jump and was able to make it home.  After getting home I cut off the truck and it would not crank again.  Is that the battery or the alternator?

Also my heater does not work.  Well, it works for like 5 minutes then it blows cold air.  What do you think is the problem and how do I fix it?

1.  My right passenger window slipped off track. Please give me instructions on how to fix it.

You probably need a new regulator.  If you want to do this sort of work I urge you to purchase a workshop manual.  Call Atlantic British 800 533 2210 to buy one.

You can also subscribe to Land Rover's online manuals at www.landrovertechinfo.com

2.  My keyless remote does not work.  I have changed the battery in it.  Do I need to program it for it to work again?

Sorry to say this can only be done with the Autologic, Rovacom, or T4 test systems found at Land Rover specialists and dealers.

3.  My passenger lock does not lock.  I have to manually push the lock down.  Is there a quick fix for it?

Usually that means the latch or lock solenoid is bad - see 1st line re. instructions

* You will need to test the charging system, but I'd suspect the alternator

* Check your coolant level, and the thermostat
