Land Rover Repair: 2001 Range Rover Sunroof open water leak, rover sunroof, sunroof assembly

Question
I have a 2001 Range Rover, and I get dashboard message Sunroof open, but I cannot seem to get the sunroof closed properly. the anti-trap mechanism does not reset. When I closed the sunroof tightly manually with the turn key, It does not align well, and I get noisy cabin as result. How can I restore effectively the anti-trap mechnism and sunroof power operation. thanks

Answer
If the roof does not close properly, even with the key, it probably has a problem with the drive cables.  I suggest you check to see if the left and right cables have become misaligned or bent, thereby causing the roof to shut slightly crooked and jam.

That's probably what is happening

A shop will probably have to drop your headliner and remove the sunroof assembly.  The roof assembly can then be repaired on the bench.
