Land Rover Repair: Backlight for digital clock - 00 Disco II, clock unit, digital clock

Question
The backlight for my digital clock is no longer on.  The clock is still working and keeping time, just no light.  Is this a fuse problem, or does the clock unit need to be replaced?

Answer
Hi Jeff,

Here's what I found for your clock:

1. Carefully remove clock assembly from fascia.
2. Disconnect multiplugs from clock and door locking switches.
3. Remove door locking switch from clock assembly and remove clock assembly.

Refit

1. Fit door lock switch to clock assembly and connect multiplugs.
2. Position and push to secure clock assembly to fascia.

I would start looking at your external lights to see if any are not working.  On my older Disco, if a dash light does not work, 9 out of 10 times, it's a blown rear brake light, sidemarker light or something in between.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
