Land Rover Repair: Discovery, lots of trouble, light oil

Hi John,
Your advise is great you have already helped with numerous repairs to my 95 Disco. I am up in BC and am having lots of trouble with doors not opening and now it cold not latching/Closing I am having to use hot water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.I stheir an after market actuator?

Answer
You don't need an aftermarket actuator.  You just need your existing latches cleaned and lubricated.  You may have to remove the door panels to lubricate themproperly.  Once they are silky smooth they should lock unlock openand close with no trouble.  Use a light oil for cold weather - 0-40 in an oil can, for example
