Land Rover Repair: brake failure//almost crash downhill twice, brake failure, mount baldy

hi john...i hope you will be able to help me for it almost cost my life twice.i went up to mount baldy and when were going downhill and my brake completly lost pressure.it seems like it only happen if im going downhill for it happen to me twice recently...we almost fell off the cliff.we pulled over and waited 5 mins on a level and completely went away...help!

The most likely explanation for your problem is that the ABS activated, preventing you from stopping.

I have never seen a "temporary loss of pressure" in a Land Rover, as you allege.  If that happened to you it's new to me.

I suggest you drive to a muddy hillside where it's safe to get going 15-20 mph and slam on the brakes.  If your abs is working you'll feel it activate.  You can then tell if that is the same feeling you experienced on the mountain.  If so, return to your service facility and tell them about it.

If the abs activation is not what you experienced you are going to have to check all the hydraulic components carefully and see where the examination leads.
