Land Rover Repair: rear windows, isolation switch, rear windows

Question
sir .. rear windows some time working some time not , I could not find out when and when, any way after the fuse is there any relay?? before the switches?

Answer
Hi Khalid,

here is an excellent website for you to visit.  They have a TECH section that fully describes how to repair rear window problems using text AND photos.

www.discoweb.org

Go to the TECH page and read either the "Rear electric window" article or the "Rear window regulator" article.

Both are very imformative.

I am not aware of any relays after the fuses and before the switches, just your isolation switch.   This sounds like a window lift ecu problem or perhaps an electrical short.  On the window lift ecu, terminal 4 is the voltage point for the rear window console switch.

I sometimes wonder if the driver's door sensor (the open door sensor) has an impact on this problem?  If the window lift ecu detects the driver's door sensor is open then closed, it can cut the power (NAS models).

Best of luck,

JohnMc
