Land Rover Repair: The bongs at ignition in Discovery 2, discovery 2, bongs

Hi, I have a late model Disco 2, very nice it is too. Can you explain the bells/
bongs that happen when you start up? I don't understand why they happen
sometimes and not others. What are they for? Is there a significance to the
number? Any info gratefully received. Thanks!

Answer
The bells and bongs are programmable (seat belt/lights on/door closed/etc) using the dealer T4 test system or an Autologic system. Find a dealer or shop that has such a system and pay them to go through the setup of your truck.  That should resolve any questions.
