Land Rover Repair: Drivers door, favorable recommendation, defender 90

My driver's side door of my Defender 90 1992 200 Tdi will not open and the lock on the inside has come loose. How do I fix it? Help me Obi John, you're my only hope.

Answer
Usually the inner lock can be banged and jiggled and the lock level will more to the unlock position.  If that completely fails, buy a new inner lock, and look at it.  You'll see where you could drill into the old one to cause it to fall apart.  We have to do that occasionally.

Your problem is not a really big deal in terms of cost or trouble.
