Land Rover Repair: fuel pump cost, fuel pump, feedback page

I was quoted around $1000, to replace the fuel pump and filter in my 98 Discovery. Does this seem fair?

Answer
The parts to change a pump cost around $500.  It's a 2 hour job, more or less.  $1,000 sounds like it's on the high side but labor rates and parts markups vary.

In addition, there maybe more to your particular repair than just a pump.
