Land Rover Repair: Drive Belt Noise, john robison, accl

Question
I was having a high pitched noise from my drivebelt(that is what i thought) for 98 Disco. I bought one online and replaced it using the hanes manual but the noise didnt go, it is back :(. any idea, it is high when the truck is just started but goes once i press the ACCL.
Also my Steering fluid has been disappearing which i noticed after the noise while turning the steering, so filled it and now it is ok but kinda thinking where did the old fluid go.

Answer
The noise is almost certainly one of the two idler rollers.  Take the belt back off and spin them - I'm sure one will feel "ballsy"

Replacements cost about $75

Good luck,
