Land Rover Repair: Land Rover Transmission problem, land rover service, discovery model

Question
Dear sir,
We have a 1998 Land rover Automatic. Recently it underwent and engine re-fit and since repair will not change upin gears. It shifts through 1 & 2 no problem and back down but will not shift up any higher than 2nd - any help you can give us would be great. Car was a company car in Houston TXS and we broght the car over here to Angola with 3 years ago. - Please advise

Answer
The Discovery model has a kickdown cable between engine and transmission - that may be tight.  If you have a Range Rover there is no kickdown cable.

Is there a Land Rover service agent with a T4 test system within driving distance?  You might have them check it if the kickdown is not the problem

good luck
John
