Land Rover Repair: 1996 discovery over heat, clutch fan, seser

my land rover is over heating ive changed the thermastat,clutch fan and coolant.it over heats the first 15 minuts but does not regester on the dash..when i put a hose on the radiator it cools down and sucks the water down.othewise it sputters out the resivor and over flows.it does have trans leak in  a hose  would that cause it.
give me a step by step elimination please ,any seser swiches it slowly started to overheat and now has gotten worse.
