Land Rover Repair: electrical problems, rangerovers, assambly

Question
Dear Mr. Robinson:

I need your advice, I have discoI,1996, with electrical troubles,
first I'm live in el Paso Tx. and we don't have LR local agency.
I recive a letter from LR company about safty recall action b156-
fuel tank cracking.
I made a appointment to santa Fe NM, ( near from ELP), to make the
exchange the tank, when the disco is in the shop, the advisor tell
me , that need to change the pump assambly, for the time of use the
disco 106458 miles, the pump rusty lines etc.and only charge the cost
of this item, no labor charge. I'm agree for the simple reason of
thank new, pump gas new, give me better service..
When I return to ELP, en use my disco,( 462 miles of use)the disco
don't start, first of all,I send to Europe automotive services(
Towing),they check the starter, then alternator, and don't start my
disco, When check the pump gas, this don't work,I ask to agency
about this trouble but refused to fix this,( First for distance
second beacuse is electric) when move my disco ( push ) to other
side of the shop and few days later, when back to check my disco
find that the pump work, but when try to start the engine this don't
respond. The code that show the computer arein this order:
p0118,p0125,p0113,p0183,p0340,p1201,p0201,p0103,p0102,p0158,p1317-
:,this sound like a electical problem -electric contac-shock-, for
bad instalation of the electric harnees of the pump, but is only a
idea, other the ECU.
Can somebody give me a hint about this?, is there other procedure to
check? any suggestion?

Thank's for your time and help

Answer
It's possible the wiring is corroded back at the tank and you do not have good power to the pump.  I'd suggest you start there.  Make sure the full 12 volts is available at the pump when you try and crank your Rover.  You may need new wiring and plugs back there

It also sounds like you need to find a shop that's really qualified to work on Land Rovers.  Why don't you look at the shop list at www.rangerovers.net and see if any are in driving distance from you?
