Land Rover Repair: ABS lights on, rotor discs, abs light

Question
Hi! I am the owner of a LR Discovery 1998, V8, 4.0 L. The ABS light started to lights very often when I was driving. Last weekend I replaced the two front rotor discs and the four axle bearing including seals then the light shown a proper operation of ABS. Everthing was supplied
by Northeast British Parts Shop, so I think all of them are original replacements.

Today morning light came back again. What do you think it can be the problem?

Thanks a lot for information!

Ivan

Answer
Ivan,

where you instructed to do all this work to solve the ABS light problem?  By whom?

ABS light usually has codes associated with it.  A good OBD reader, dealer testbook or some other diagnostic device can reveal these codes.

The ABS light could have been triggered by the wheel sensor or some internal fault within the ABS electronics.  Some suggest that wheel vibrations can cause this...which does not say much for the sensors.

If you went to a LR dealer and was told to perform this work...go back to them and have them repair the real cause of the ABS fault.

It would be a shame to have done all that work if the real problem was the ABS modulator or a faulty wheel sensor.

Best of luck,

JohnMc
