Land Rover Repair: Oxygen Sensor Identification, o2 sensors, oxygen sensor

Question
I am chasing down malfunctioning oxygenb sensors (since my engine was replaced and I was told that when I dropped sleeves earlier, it most likely took out the O2 sensors). The problem I have is the scanner I have identifies Bank A/B and sensor 1/2. How do I correlate this information - Which side of the car is bank A or B? Which O2 sensor (before or after the catalytic converter) is number 1 or 2? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Greg,

Bank A(or bank 1) is driver's side, sensor 1 is upstream or pre-catalytic.

Which leaves you with Bank B (or 2) on passenger side, and sensor 2 would be downstream or post cat.

no.1 sensors are upstream, no. 2 is downstream.

hope this helps,
