Land Rover Repair: Land Rover Discovery, land rover discovery, fuse box

Question
My ABS, TC and the red light showing the axles shows up and I can't move the car out of Park position unless I override the system by pressing the button underneath the gear box. LR replaced the entire fuse box to remedy the situation, but it happened twice after the fuse box was replaced.  LR dealer asked me to replace the #25 fuse (15 volt I think) if it happens again.  Well it did.  LR now says they don't know what is happening.  Any thoughts before we drive this into the river and it becomes a "river rover"?

Answer
Hi Richard,

is it possible to find another LR dealership or an independent LR mechanic?

Sounds like this dealership is 'stringing' you along.  Are you under any warranty or are these repairs coming out of your pocket?

LR is very much aware of the ABS, TC and HDC related problems.  I get many emails from owners who are suffering from this problem.  Since there are so many components involved, it is hard to isolate the true cause.  It can be as simple as a wheel sensor or as complex as the ABS modulator.  Of course, the cost of parts can be huge.  Labour too!

So if you LR dealer is telling you they don't know what is causing these problems...find another dealership that is willing (and able) to do the work.

If you are under warranty, do it fast.  The repair bill could be quite significant.

Best of luck,

NB: the 'river rover' option sounds good until some environmentalist finds the Disco and has you pay for the towing, environment impact study and eventual clean-up.
