Land Rover Repair: ABS warning lights, discovery series ii, warning lights

Question
Hi,

re:  99 Discovery, Series II.

Our ABS, Traction Control and Hill Decent warning lights are all lit.  They all 3 came on together a month ago and have yet to go off.

Any thoughts as to what might have caused this but most of all........how can they be fixed?

Thank you

Answer
Hi Anthony,

this is a common problem, however, if you talk to LRNA they'd say otherwise.

It all depends on which component is actually faulty.  It could be the ABS modulator or a wheel sensor and the best way is to have LR read the error codes and isolate where the problem is. After that, it's a question of swapping out the part and installing the new part.

In most cases I've seen, its been the ABS modulator.  Be prepared, this can be an expensive repair.  Consider calling LRNA (or the LR headquarters in you Country) and voicing your complaint.

Best of luck,
