Land Rover Repair: Air Springs, competent mechanic, conversion kit

I would like firstly, to thank you for any advice you may be able to give me.

I have a 1999 Disco Series 2. I am having problems with the air springs and would like to convert to coils.

Could you please advise me if this can be done by a competent mechanic without the use of the dealer diagnostics and if so what is the procedure to carry out the conversion regarding the disconnection of the air springs from the compressor etc.

Yes, you can order a conversion kit from www.roverparts.com and install it with common hand tools.  At some point, you will need to find a specialist with a Autologic or T4 system to reprogram the SLABS system to get rid of the error message you will see on the dash but the truck will drive properly the whole time.
